I didnโt realise it, but yesterday it hit me like a truck โ I am still not fully recovered from burnout.
I won’t ramble on about what burnout is. Most others have said it a lot better than I. But I’m sure anybody reading this knows about burnout, or god forbid, have experienced it themselves.
Almost two years have passed since I had an episode at work that shook me into a period of soul crushing self doubt. I worked through it, it took a lot of time, therapy and healing, but I got through … or so I thought.
Fast forward two years, and from time to time, I still find myself not feeling as capable as I was back then, back when I was confident in myself. I find myself up against a brick wall that I keep telling myself I canโt break down, or that I canโt climb. I find myself at that point of self doubt again. Where has my confidence as a designer gone on these horrible days?
This is the lasting effect of that episode
This is the lasting effect of burnout.
Iโm finding this content challenge to be extremely refreshing. Iโm doing little bits everyday. These are things I wouldnโt usually take the time to do. Theyโre not works of art, but theyโre mine.
Thanks Tom.
I want to move past this, I want to find my stride again. Itโs been two years, and Iโm not there yet, but I’ll get there.
